The Country Bar at The Camden Show

The Event

Set in historic Onslow Park, the Camden Show—Australia’s largest regional event outside the Sydney Royal—welcomes over 40,000 visitors across two days. Run by volunteers, it’s a beloved celebration of country life, complete with cattle judging, show jumping, rodeos, and rides.

The original bar sat tucked behind the announcer’s box, disconnected from the action. With the Style Pavilion now anchoring activity opposite the President’s Arena, a new centrally located Country Bar was proposed—bringing visitors into the heart of the show.

The design introduced an inviting, social atmosphere with outdoor seating, communal tables, wine barrels, and sunny yellow chairs framed by buxus-lined picket fencing and festoon lighting. Inside, guests enjoyed local beer, cider, wine, oysters, pulled pork rolls, and grazing boards. Quickly becoming a social hub—hosting homebrew awards and providing shelter during a downpour—the bar added a fresh, sophisticated layer of country hospitality to the show.
