The Event
Pop-Up Farmer’s Market
This biannual market transforms a Sydney oval into a vibrant celebration of regional produce and country hospitality. Boarder parents bring goods from all corners—lamb cutlets, cheeses, wines, jams, NT mangoes, Holbrook eggs and baked goodies—displayed under one grand tent.
The layout is carefully planned: prep zones, long dining tables, and a central counter. Hessian-covered tables are layered with vintage suitcases and crates to showcase the produce. Refrigeration, BBQs, and power are bumped in to run the event.
The tent is dressed in handmade bunting, suspended olive and cotton branches, and rustic outdoor seating—cane chairs and hay bale ottomans. A straw bale lounge offers a fun photo spot, while barbed wire sculptures, handmade grazing boards, and even bagged horse poo are available for sale.
The designer expanded the event into a communal dining experience, featuring fresh produce grazing boards that create a welcoming space to relax, reconnect, and enjoy the simple joy of sharing around long communal tables.
